TCL is bringing three new TVs running Android O with Google Assistant and Alexa built-in including an 8K resolution model to Australia next year
At IFA, TCL has joined some of the biggest names in TV announcing a new line-up of TVs headed to the Australian and global markets, with the distinction of announcing one of the first 8K resolution TVs headed to Australia.
TCL will be bringing the new X10, Frame TV+ and X8 running a version of Android Oreo and featuring support for Google Assistant and Alexa built-in to Australia next year. Pricing and dates for all three models are yet to be confirmed, but we're keen to hear more.
The X10 is the 8K model and flagship of the upcoming line with an ultra-high definition resolution of 7,680 x 4,320 (33.2 megapixels) using QLED (Quantum Dot) technology for a wide colour gamut, with ultra-bright 1000nit brightness. For enthusiasts, the X10 supports both Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos sound for the best cinema-like experience in your home.
TCL's X8 is a 4K resolution QLED TV, featuring Quantum Dot display technology which also brings a wider colour gamut. Though it's not quite the 8K resolution of the X10 it does also support Dolby Vision HDR imaging technology and Dolby Atmos immersive audio.
Finally, TCL will be bringing the Frame TV+ to Australia as well, a TV modelled on the same concept as Samsung's Frame TV concept with an artistic take to the frame surrounding the panel.
Jason Carrick, TCL's Australian National Sales Director said
TCL's 2019 range will give Australians the opportunity to experience a new level of immersive and seamless entertainment. Our new models aim to enhance the experiences our customers crave, but also aim to prepare our customers for new developments in the market, such as the introduction of Google Assistant – which is yet to reach Aussie shores.
