Two of three Moto G7 logos appear – what does that mean?

Some new logos have surfaced for Motorola's next iteration of their mid-range "G" line of smartphones. Only two logos were discovered by sources – one for the Moto G7 and one for the Moto G7 Plus. Normally Motorola has produced three variants of the G devices with the third one be the "Play" version. With a logo for a Moto G7 Play missing, some are wondering whether the Moto G6 Play was the end of the line for that third version of the Motorola mid-range phone.

For their current models, the main difference the Moto G6 Play brought to the table when compared to the other two variants was a much bigger battery. Some are wondering if this means Motorola is planning to beef up the batteries in the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus, rendering a Moto G7 Play version as moot.

As we ponder the fate of the Play version of the G line of Motorola smartphones, we are also still in a guessing mode as to what kind of hardware or other design changes Motorola may make. Presumably the Moto G7 and Moto G7 Plus will continue to be positioned mid-market with corresponding Snapdragon processors. From a design standpoint, an 18:9 screen should be making its way to that part of the market, but it is unclear how small the bezels may get. Of course, an ever present question in this day and age seems to be – notch?
