Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) now receiving June security patch in India

Samsung has started rolling out this month’s security update, which transports 96 fixes for Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android operating system and 23 patches for Galaxy-branded smartphones, for the Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) in India.

For those who haven’t been following SamMobile closely over the course of the past few days, the June Security Maintenance Release (SMR) arrived on the Galaxy J5 (2017), Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge earlier today, and started making its way to the Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at the start of the week.

If you own a Galaxy A5 (2017) or Galaxy A7 (2017), are feeling impatient and want to check to see if the upgrade is ready for your handset, open up Settings, tap Software Update, then hit Download Updates Manually. You shouldn’t need to follow these steps though, as you’ll receive an alert when the OTA is available.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. The Galaxy M series has proven to be very successful for Samsung. The company launched its Galaxy M handsets last year in a bid to compete more effectively against the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo in India's lucrative mid-range market. Motorola Pronto Suite To Be Used By States Of Jersey Police

Motorola 's Pronto Suite of applications is going to be used by the States of Jersey Police, proposed as a forward-moving effort to transition from using methods for simpler tasks that could be completed more efficiently in the field by using digital resources instead of using paper. Examples of tasks that could be completed with some of the apps in the Pronto Suite are things like taking down statements or handing out penalty notices. The idea behind getting on board with the Pronto Suite is to save time for officers in the field and help streamline things. The suite will include things like the Pronto OTA server for storage management, the Pronto Hub Server, and the Pronto Web Manager to view captured data. Essentially Pronto is a hosting service that opens up the access to the varied set of tools for officers in the field.
