Galaxy S8 sales surpass 1.3 million in South Korea

Samsung has announced that sales of its flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ in South Korea recently surpassed the 1.3 million mark, with around 11,000 to 12,000 customers purchasing a unit every day, which is the highest figure ever recorded in the region.

On Monday, it was also revealed that the firm had set another record: its share price rose to 2.41 million won ($2,120). Obviously, that isn’t only the result of the Galaxy S8  taking the market by storm, but it’s definitely playing a big part in its success.

In an effort to maintain momentum, Samsung will reportedly release two more color variants of the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ — Blue Coral and Pink Gold — in the region in July, and aims to launch the Galaxy Note FE shortly after to bolster sales.

Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ review: Samsung brings us the future, but it’s not perfect yet

To be honest, it’s not difficult to see why the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are selling so well. They’re arguably the most innovative smartphones on the market and sport impressive internals, including an Infinity Display and an Exynos 8895/Snapdragon 835 CPU.
