Samsung releases the Galaxy J7 (2017) in South Korea

Samsung today announced the release of the Galaxy J7 (2017) in South Korea. It has teamed up with mobile carrier KT Corp to sell the handset in the country.

This is the very same variant of the Galaxy J7 (2017) that has already been released in several markets across the globe, not the one that’s making the rounds in the rumor mill. The specifications are decent enough for a mid-range smartphone.

The Galaxy J7 (2017) features a 5.5-inch Full HD display with an Exynos 7870 processor under the hood coupled with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. It’s powered by Android 7.0 Nougat.

The handset also features a 13-megapixel rear and 13-megapixel front camera as well as a fingerprint sensor. It also has support for Samsung Pay, the company’s mobile payments service. The 3,600mAh battery helps keep the lights on.

We’ve heard a lot of rumors recently about a variant of the Galaxy J7 (2017) that’s destined for China. Leaked renders of the handset show that it may have a dual camera system at the back. Samsung hasn’t confirmed if such a variant exists but there’s enough circumstantial evidence to support that theory now.

Samsung is selling the Galaxy J7 (2017) through KT Corp in South Korea for 396,000 won or $353.

Apple is postponing new iOS features in favor of reliability and performance

Apple has decided to postpone new features in iOS in favor of improving the reliability and performance of the operating system, as according to a report by Axios. According to the report, Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President, Software Engineering, announced the revised plan to employees at a meeting earlier this month. This pushes features like refresh of the homescreen and in-car user interface, improvements to core apps like Mail and camera experience to 2019. What we will get this year is improvements to AR, digital health and parental controls. Apart from that, the OS will largely feature improvements to performance and user experience. We have seen Apple do this with macOS in the past, where they dedicate one entire update cycle to just refining the OS and make existing features work better. Galaxy Note 8 launch date has been confirmed by Samsung

There has been a lot of speculation about the Galaxy Note 8’s launch in recent weeks. Reports have suggested that the handset will be launched earlier than previously expected. T-Mobile starts rolling out Android 10 update to Galaxy Tab S6

Samsung started the rollout of Android 10 to its current-generation flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6 , three months ago. One month later, Verizon released the Android 10 update to the Galaxy Tab S6 on its network. Now, T-Mobile has released the Android 10 software update to the tablet on its network in the US . The new software update with firmware version  T867USQU2BTE1 brings Android 10 to the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S6 (SM-T867U). It also features One UI 2.1 and the May 2020 Android security patch . The file size of the update is over 2.1GB, so we would advise you to use a Wi-Fi connection to download the new software. Although T-Mobile's changelog doesn't mention new features, the Android 10 update brings smoother animations and transitions, Google's gesture-based UI navigation, improved Dark Mode, tweaked color scheme and icons, and more. Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.
