YouTube TV now works in Firefox

Google is expanding YouTube TV to support Firefox, as spotted by YourTechExplained, marking the first browser to work with Google's over-the-top streaming service that isn't Chrome (which you'll recall is also owned by Google.)

The added Firefox support comes from a quietly updated support page noting the change, although sadly it just seems that only Firefox is getting the update from Google for now — there's no word on Safari, Edge, or other browsers getting Google's blessing to work with YouTube TV at this time.

YouTube TV costs $40 per month (after a recent price bump), and also has apps for iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Roku, in addition to Chrome and Firefox on browsers.

Samsung spent a lot of money to tell New York that the Galaxy S8 has arrived

It goes without saying that Samsung is going to spend a lot of money on marketing to get the word out that its new flagship smartphone is the one you should be buying this year. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at an event in New York City today. Since it was an invite-only event, although it was streamed live online, Samsung decided to spend a lot of money to tell New Yorkers that the Galaxy S8 has arrived. Samsung illuminated the iconic Times Square in New York City with immersive displays reflective of the visual experience that the Galaxy S8′s Infinity Display promises. It basically bought out almost every available signage to announce the arrival of its newest flagship smartphone. As if that wasn’t enough, it even brought in a troupe of performers who danced “in celebration of the debut of the Galaxy S8.” Good stuff. If you thought the Pixel 2 and 2 XL were expensive, you probably weren't very happy when you saw the Pixel 3's $799 and Pixel 3 XL's $899 MSRPs.
