Electronics Deals – August 31, 2018: B&O Play, Bose, Harman Kardon & More

Today, Amazon has discounted the B&O Play Beoplay E8 Premium Truly Wireless Bluetooth Earphones, bringing the price down to just $245. That is good for around $55 off of its regular price, and is actually a really good deal. This is because Bang & Olufsen products are almost never discounted, so anytime they go on sale, it's a good time to pick them up. Even if it is just $50. These also provide some really good audio quality, and surprisingly decent battery life for a pair of truly wireless earbuds.

There are some other great deals going on right now. World Wide Stereo is still discounting a number of Harman Kardon and Bose speakers, but those deals ends tomorrow so you're going to want to grab them before they are gone. Amazon is also still discounting a number of its own hardware. This includes the Echo Dot for $39, the Echo 2nd Generation for $85, and even the Fire TV Cube for just $89. These are all great products to pick up and take back to school this year. Whether you need them for class, or for your dorm when you have downtime and need some entertainment. There are also plenty of smartphones, TVs, and so much more on sale today. There are some really big deals going on right now, and it's definitely a good time to pick up a new TV, especially with so many new ones being announced at IFA this week – meaning that currently available TVs will be discounted.

But keep in mind that some of these deals may end before then, if stock runs low or simply runs out. Also keep in mind that prices on Amazon do tend to fluctuate. Location-based solution provider Telenav is seeking to disrupt the in-car services industry with a new monetization platform designed to offer a variety of in-car services such as free navigation to consumers and monetize them through advertising. Originally announced at Las Vegas, Nevada-based Consumer Electronics Show in January, Telenav's offering is effectively targeted at bringing the ad-supported software business model that already proved its worth in the mobile industry to the in-vehicle tech segment. Samsung’s Harman acquisition approved by Fair Trade Commission

Samsung Electronics announced late last year that it was going to acquire Harman International for $8 billion . Even though there was some pushback from minority investors initially who thought that the price was too low, Harman’s shareholders eventually approved the acquisition during the shareholders’ meeting earlier this month. The relevant regulatory approvals are now required before Samsung can close this deal once and for all. The company has cleared one such hurdle. South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission has given its final approval to Samsung for the acquisition of Harman International. The decision is similar to the European Commission which also sees no harm in allowing the acquisition to go through. South Korea’s Fair Trade Commission is of the view that this acquisition is not likely to cause a problem with regard to the Fair Trade Act and restriction of competition.
