Here’s the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 w/ sliding cameras and bezel-less display

Dropping the bezels is the stand-out trend of the past year or two in smartphones, but Xiaomi was one of the first to do it a couple of years ago with the Mi Mix. Now, the company is launching a further refinement of that concept and it's easily the smallest bezels we've seen to date.

For the most part, eliminating bezels on Android smartphones have resulted in a "chin" or a notch, or in many cases both. Xiaomi's Mi Mix and Mi Mix 2 both slimmed things down while placing the camera at the bottom of the device to avoid a notch and still keep the bezels super slim.

With the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, though, the Chinese company appears to be taking no shortcuts in its path to a truly bezel-less device. This time around, the sliding design we first saw on the OPPO Find X is being used to house what looks like two cameras and perhaps another sensor or two. Interestingly, the sliding design here doesn't seem to be mechanical, but more like something you'd find on the BlackBerry Priv or an old Motorola DROID. Personally, I kind of dig that.

It's still unclear at the moment when we'll be seeing the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 officially debuted, but it's certainly something to look forward to even if it won't ever arrive Stateside.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. Motorola Pronto Suite To Be Used By States Of Jersey Police

Motorola 's Pronto Suite of applications is going to be used by the States of Jersey Police, proposed as a forward-moving effort to transition from using methods for simpler tasks that could be completed more efficiently in the field by using digital resources instead of using paper. Examples of tasks that could be completed with some of the apps in the Pronto Suite are things like taking down statements or handing out penalty notices. The idea behind getting on board with the Pronto Suite is to save time for officers in the field and help streamline things. The suite will include things like the Pronto OTA server for storage management, the Pronto Hub Server, and the Pronto Web Manager to view captured data.
