OUKITEL Tests WP1's IP68 Rating Via 8 "Challenges": Video
The OUKITEL W1 is one of OUKITEL's newest smartphones, and the company has decided to put the device through a number of water-related tests. The OUKITEL WP1 is IP68 certified, which means it can be submerged 1.5m under water surface for 30 minutes, and OUKITEL decided to film all these tests for you to enjoy. The video itself is embedded down below, and has a duration of around 5 minutes.
The first test the company performed includes oil, as the OUKITEL WP1 was placed in a plastic box, and covered with oil. At that point, the company decided to add some soy sauce to the mix, and mix the two ingredients together. After OUKITEL pulled out the WP1 out of the box, the phone continued working properly. At that point, OUKITEL returned the phone to the box, and added vinegar as well, and that did not harm the device either. As if that wasn't enough, cooking wine was added as well, after which OUKITEL decided to throw in some Pepsi Cola in there as well. The next "ingredient" is peanut milk, and after that, the company actually washed out the phone, and emptied the container.
That's not all, though, as the company decided to show everyone that you can even pour instant coffee on the OUKITEL WP1, hot instant coffee, and that the phone will be able to handle it without a problem. The next test OUKITEL decided to perform includes some sort of a cleaner fluid, probably for dishes or something of the sort, as the phone needed proper cleaning, that's for sure. All in all, the device continued performing normally after all these tests. For those of you who are not in the loop, the OUKITEL WP1 is a rugged smartphone, and other than being IP68 certified, the phone also sports a 5,000mAh battery, 4GB of RAM and ships with Android 8.1 Oreo. The device features a 5.5-inch display, while it is fueled by the Helio P23 64-bit octa-core processor. This phone was announced a couple of days ago, and it's expected to go on sale soon, but we're still not sure when exactly will that happen, nor how much will the phone cost.
