Galaxy S20 pre-booking offer redemption extended in India

Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S20 series in February and started taking pre-orders in India during the same month. The company had lined up several pre-order offers for Galaxy S20, Galaxy 20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra buyers, and people could redeem those offers until April 30. However, the offer redemption period in India has now been extended until June 15.

As the COVID-19 lockdown in India has been extended until May 3, customers who pre-ordered the Galaxy S20 haven't been able to redeem pre-order offers. So, Samsung has taken notice and announced that buyers can now collect and activate their smartphones till May 20. They will also be able to redeem pre-order offers until June 15.

Those who pre-ordered the Galaxy S20+ or the Galaxy S20 Ultra in India can get the Galaxy Buds+ at a discounted price of INR 1,999. Galaxy S20 pre-order customers can buy the wireless earphones for INR 2,999. Buyers can also get the Samsung Care+ device protection plan for INR 1,999, which is a discount of 50% on the original pricing.

Through the upgrade offer, Samsung is providing an additional bonus of up to INR 5,000 on the purchase of any Galaxy S20 device. Other offers include double data benefits to Airtel, Reliance Jio, and Vodafone customers, and a four-month free subscription to YouTube Premium.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production.
