TRON Foundation’s decentralized apps now available on Galaxy Store

Samsung and TRON Foundation's partnership continues and their collaboration recently led to TRON decentralized apps (DApps) being available for download from the Galaxy Store. A number of TRON DApps can now be acquired directly from Samsung's digital storefront, making TRON the first blockchain project to have its own dedicated section in the Galaxy Store.

Owners of Galaxy devices with built-in crypto wallets (such as the Galaxy S10, Note 10, and Galaxy S20 series) can now download TRON DApps directly from the Galaxy Store, as long as they reside in Europe or the USA. As of this writing, TRON Foundation's dedicated DApps page includes blockchain games such as Blockchain Cutie, Meerkat Mining, Super Player, Timeloop, and Dig For It.

TRON founder Justin Sun cited by CryptoGlobe views this as an 'incredible opportunity.' Giving Galaxy Store users the ability to download DApps to their phones directly from Samsung's popular app store could greatly increase TRON's userbase. Eligible Galaxy smartphone owners also have access to the TRON Foundation's TRX Universe app, which serves as an introduction to the TRON blockchain with features including wallet, markets, and localization with support for English and Hindi.

Users in the USA and Europe can now find TRON Foundation's list of DApps by searching for the company's name in the Galaxy Store.

Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. ARCore apps are now available for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China

Google's ARCore apps can now run on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China. The apps are available in the Xiaomi App Store through a partnership with Google. A tweet from the Google AR & VR Twitter account announced the news today, although the exact ARCore apps that are now compatible with the Mi Mix 2S were not named. Google did say in the tweet that more partners for ARCore are coming soon. The Mi Mix 2S is the first phone from the manufacturer to support ARCore. Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.
