Samsung working hard on your Galaxy S20: Another update now rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out a new software update for the Galaxy S20 series just a week after the flagship received its previous update. This is the third firmware update that has been released for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra in the month of April. Unlike previous updates, this one only brings a new security patch – the May 2020 security patch to be exact. It sports firmware version G98xxXXS2ATD5.

Since it's just a security update, we can hope it won't break any features or introduce bugs, as that will only further sour the experience of owning the Galaxy S20, S20+, or S20 Ultra for many customers after a string of issues Samsung has had to fix with recent updates. The update is currently rolling out in a number of countries in Europe for both the LTE and 5G models, and it shouldn't be long before it starts making its way to other regions, including the United States.

You can download the update over the air on your Galaxy S20, S20+, or S20 Ultra by going into the Settings » Software menu and tapping Download and install. Alternatively, you can download the latest firmware from our archive and install it on the phone using a Windows computer. Do let us know if you notice any improvements or changes once your phone has been updated by leaving a comment.
