Galaxy S7 edge has the lowest SAR value among the top 10 popular smartphones

The Galaxy Note 7 may have met with an untimely demise, but the Galaxy S7 edge is still holding its own and is one of the best smartphones out there. According to a new report, the Galaxy S7 edge has the lowest electromagnetic radiation amongst the ten most popular smartphones around the world.

The SAR (specific absorption rate) value of a cellular device indicates the amount of radiation absorbed into the human body. The lower the SAR value, the safer it is for humans. According to PhonAndroid, the Galaxy S7 edge’s SAR value was 0.264W/kg, the lowest among the ten most popular smartphones. It was followed by the Asus Zenfone 3 with 0.278W/kg, the Galaxy A5 (2016) with 0.290W/kg, and the Lenovo Moto Z with 0.304W/kg.

The Honor 8 and P9 smartphones by Huawei had the highest SAR value in the test with 1.5W/kg and 1.43W/kg, respectively. The Apple iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7 had seventh and eighth with SAR values of 1.24W/kg and 1.38W/kg, respectively.
