Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ pricing

The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are official, after an insane amount of leaks that spoiled the surprise Samsung could have given us at the Unpacked event. You know the devices’ specs, you know what we think about them, but what about pricing? Well, as rumors had said, the Galaxy S8 is priced at Euro 799, while the Galaxy S8+ will cost Euro 899.

High prices, yes, and they might be slightly more in some markets (or less, depending on where you buy them). As usual, Samsung will announce pricing information for different markets in the coming days, and the general release date is set for April 28th. What do you think about the price tags carried by the Galaxy S8 and S8+?

Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The issue — which our Cody Toombs aptly described as "like something changed in the Matrix" — is demonstrated in the video below: VIDEO Based on reports, a factory reset can't fix the problem, and it doesn't appear to be tied to any specific SKU. Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. Samsung Display retains its leadership It's pertinent to mention here that Samsung's Q1 market share is 6.6 percentage points lower than it was in the same period last year.
