Galaxy S6 edge Plus receives May security patch in Europe

The factory unlocked variant of the Galaxy S6 edge Plus in Europe has started receiving this month’s security maintenance update, reveals several reports. The upgrade — G928FXXS3CQE4 — appears to be identical to the one that started making the rounds for the Galaxy A5 (2017) two weeks ago, addressing a total of 54 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) in the Android OS.

Like usual, the OTA is rolling out in stages (country-by-country), so it could take a while to arrive on your Galaxy S6 edge Plus. If you’d like to manually see if the update is ready for your device, open up Settings, navigate into Software Update, then press Download Updates Manually. If it’s not, don’t panic: it should arrive by the end of the week.
