This simple Chrome extension makes new tabs gorgeous

Google's backdrops are great, but Apple's Aerials are awesome.

We've talked about how easy it is to bring Apple TV's excellent Aerial screensavers to Android TV. It's also possible to use them as your Mac background. And for everyone else — especially those of the chromeOS variety — it's also possible to use them as what you see when you fire up a new tab in the world's best browser.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Install this Chrome extension.
  2. Open a new tab. (I'm a fan of the Ctrl-T method, you might be a mouse clicker. To each his own.)

And that's in. Inside that new tab you'll see the gorgeous aerial screensavers Apple's left open for folks to do with as they please.

AT&T rolls out improved prepaid plans

AT&T today rolled out some changes to its prepaid plans , and they're all for the better. First up, AT&T has ditched its 6GB plan and replaced it with an 8GB plan. The regular price of the 8GB plan is a bit more than the 6GB plan — $50 vs $45 — but if you enroll in autopay, the 8GB plan will cost you the same $40 per month as the 6GB plan. This plan includes 8GB of high-speed data, unlimited talk and text to Mexico and Canada, and the ability to use your talk, text, and data in Mexico and Canada. Like AT&T's other prepaid plans, it also includes unlimited talk and text in the U.S. Also of note is that AT&T is making its $65 unlimited plan cheaper for those that enroll in autopay. Previously this plan would cost $60 per month with autopay, but now it'll cost $55 per month with autopay. This plan includes unlimited high-speed data but no mobile hotspot or HD video streaming. LG G6 launching in Moroccan Blue, Lavender Violet, and Raspberry Rose

The LG Q6 is also getting new Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet options. We're expecting LG to unveil the G7 (or whatever it's 2018 flagship is called) this coming March, and while it should be a darn nice phone, there's still a lot to like about the G6 . The G6 continues to be one of the most underrated Android phones around, but LG is hoping that'll change at least a little by making it available in a few new colors . The G6 was previously available in Astro Black, Ice Platinum, Mystic White, Terra Gold, and Marine Blue, but it's now gaining Moroccan Blue, Lavender Violet, and Raspberry Rose. These are all colors that were previously limited to just the V30, and yes, that's the same Raspberry Rose that stole our hearts at CES in early January . In addition to the G6, LG is also making the more affordable Q6 available in Moroccan Blue and Lanedner Violet.
