If you're in the market for an affordable phone that's guaranteed to get some sweet Android 9 Pie action, have we got a pair of deals for you. Both the Sony Xperia XA2 and Xperia XA2 Ultra are on sale at B&H, and both are scheduled to get an update to the newest version of Android this spring.

The Xperia XA2 is currently $30 off its usual price of $249.99. For your $219.99, you're getting a 5.2-inch, 1080p display; a Snapdragon 630; three gigs of RAM; and a 23-megapixel rear camera. It comes in blue or pink, which is fun; the more subdued silver and black models are currently out of stock, though.

For another 60 bucks, you can get the XA2 Ultra, which has a bigger battery, a larger six-inch screen, an extra gigabyte of RAM, and a second, wide-angle front-facing camera. You can get the Ultra in black, blue, gold, or silver. At their normal prices of $249.99 and $399.99, it seems obvious that the non-Ultra XA2 is the better deal, but these discounts bring the difference down to a more palatable level.

Like a lot of budget devices, both of these are GSM-only, so you can't use them on CDMA networks like Verizon or Sprint. If that doesn't bother you, mosey on over to B&H to grab yours now.

Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. ARCore apps are now available for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China

Google's ARCore apps can now run on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China. The apps are available in the Xiaomi App Store through a partnership with Google. A tweet from the Google AR & VR Twitter account announced the news today, although the exact ARCore apps that are now compatible with the Mi Mix 2S were not named. Google did say in the tweet that more partners for ARCore are coming soon. The Mi Mix 2S is the first phone from the manufacturer to support ARCore. Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone. The issue — which our Cody Toombs aptly described as "like something changed in the Matrix" — is demonstrated in the video below: VIDEO Based on reports, a factory reset can't fix the problem, and it doesn't appear to be tied to any specific SKU.
