Galaxy Note 8 sales in South Korea maintain solid momentum

Samsung’s new flagship phablet has been very well received in South Korea. According to the latest industry data, Galaxy Note 8 sales in South Korea are keeping up the solid momentum we saw right after the release. Samsung is selling around 10,000-20,000 units of the Galaxy Note 8 every single day in South Korea. It’s currently the most popular handset on the market.

It’s not surprising at all. The Galaxy Note lineup has a very loyal fan following. Moreover, the Galaxy Note 8 is the first new phablet in two years. The fact that it’s a pretty great smartphone doesn’t hurt as well.

Galaxy Note 8 Sales In South Korea

The Galaxy Note 8 was released by Samsung last month. It brought in over 850,000 pre-orders for the company. The figure was significantly higher than the 400,000 pre-orders for the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 last year.

The latest data by ATLAS Research & Consulting shows that the 64GB Galaxy Note 8 offered by SK Telecom was the most sold smartphone in South Korea over the second week of October.

In this period, Galaxy Note 8 sales accounted for 28.3 percent of all smartphone sales in South Korea. Industry watchers presume that the figure is going to be higher when the 256GB model is thrown into the equation as well.

The Galaxy Note 8 sales figures have hovered around 10,000 throughout October. An official from a local carrier said that the figure is similar to that of the Galaxy S8, a handset that’s already proven to be a hit for Samsung.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. Motorola 's Pronto Suite of applications is going to be used by the States of Jersey Police, proposed as a forward-moving effort to transition from using methods for simpler tasks that could be completed more efficiently in the field by using digital resources instead of using paper. Examples of tasks that could be completed with some of the apps in the Pronto Suite are things like taking down statements or handing out penalty notices. The idea behind getting on board with the Pronto Suite is to save time for officers in the field and help streamline things.
