Samsung believes in creating fundamental solutions to the social issues faced by the world today. It has created some exceptional solutions that leverage technology to positively impact users’ lives. While virtual reality may be commonly known for its entertainment value, Samsung has used VR to change people and communities for the better.
Take Relúmĭno for example. It’s a visual aid app that Samsung showcased earlier this year. It works with the Gear VR to enhance vision for the visually impaired. The company is also working on a VR training project called Practigame. It creates engaging learning experiences for medical professionals to test their skills in a fun environment. The idea is to help them provide better care for emergency patients.

Samsung’s Solve for Tomorrow competition was featured at this year’s Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco. Many students participated and built diverse solutions. One such solution matches children from families in need with restaurants that donate extra meals.
The other involves the use of a drone for precision delivery of pesticides to ensure that agriculture keeps drinking water safe. A sensor system that acts as a warning system for drivers to alert them when animals are nearby was also showcased.
