Samsung is working on a souped-up variant of the Galaxy J2 (2017), according to a listing spotted on GFXBench’s online database on Wednesday. The handset, which carries the model number SM-J250G, sports a larger 5-inch display and a more powerful 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 processor.

The documentation also points towards the mystery unit packing 16GB of expandable internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera that’s equipped with autofocus, a 5-megapixel front-facing shooter and shipping running Android 7.1.1 skinned with Samsung’s Experience interface out of the box.

Don’t count on variant of the Galaxy J2 (2017) hitting the shelves

As for when the handset will hit the market… Well, your guess is as good as ours. We should point out, however, that this could very well be a false sighting. It’s not exactly difficult to manipulate system data to fool a benchmark engine, so best take this information with a pinch of salt.
