Anki has discounted two of its most popular products for Amazon Prime Day today, that's the Anki Cozmo which is discounted $30 to just $149, and then the Anki Overdrive: Fast & Furious Edition which is priced at $129, good for a $40 discount.

The Anki Overdrive: Fast & Furious Edition is one of the company's most popular products. It's essentially a race track with cars inspired by the Fast & Furious franchise, that you can race on the track using your smartphone. It doesn't use magnets to keep them in place, instead it uses AI or artificial intelligence. Which makes the product all the more impressive. There are some great cars included here, including Turreto's popular Dodge Charger. Now the Anki Cozmo is a robot from the company, which does also have AI included. The Cozmo can be used for playing games and solving puzzles. It's not a robot like what Alexa or Google Assistant would power, instead this is more geared towards kids, and rightfully so. Cozmo and Overdrive: Fast & Furious Edition both work with Android and iOS smartphones, so you can use it whichever smartphone you have in your pocket. Both of these are top sellers over on Amazon, and definitely worth checking out and picking up, whether as a birthday present or even an early Christmas present (it'll be tough hiding these for about five months though).

This is part of Amazon's Prime Day, which is ongoing now through midnight PST on July 17. However, you can only take advantage of this deal if you are a Prime member, so if you are not a member of Amazon Prime, you're going to want to sign up for Amazon Prime. Luckily, Amazon does offer up a free 30-day trial, which you can use for Prime Day and then cancel within a month and not pay a thing but take advantage of all of the deals on Amazon Prime Day, which is pretty neat.

Google’s December 2018 security patch includes much-needed RAM management fix

Every first Monday of the month, we're used to seeing Google launch security patches for its supported devices. This month is no different, as Google has released the December 2018 security patch. The patch not only fixes a bunch of security bugs, but also features the long awaited memory performance fixes. Android Pie has long been killing apps in the background (even if you were using them a second ago) and it's even affected devices other than Pixel /Nexus devices and we hope this fix will help. There are also some camera fixes for Pixel users included as well. Surprisingly, we're seeing the updates hit the Nexus 5X and 6P, both of which have reached their end of life. It's good to see Google support these old devices even when their three years are up and the company has no obligation to update them. December's software release is here.
