Bixby Voice goes live in India

Bixby Voice

As promised, Samsung has enabled Bixby Voice service for customers in India. The service is now available to all customers in India using the Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or the Galaxy Note8 with US English as the default language. However, even with the US English, Samsung says, Bixby in India has been optimised to understand Indian accent.

Bixby is Samsung’s virtual assistant and with voice, it can carry out most tasks that a user can do with touch. For instance, Bixby can open apps, change phone settings, send messages and emails and lots more.

Users can manually update Bixby to the latest version or Bixby will automatically prompt to update to the latest version as soon as you open the app.

Samsung Display remains the leader in global display market

The latest data from IHS Markit shows that Samsung Display has retained its dominant position as the top global smartphone display vendor in the first quarter of this year. It was able to do that as more smartphone manufacturers opted for OLED panels for their premium devices. Samsung picked up the bulk of those orders. Samsung's display affiliate is estimated to have shipped $3.4 billion worth of smartphone displays in the first quarter ending March 2019. It accounted for 40.2 percent of the smartphone display market in this period. Samsung Display also accounted for 80 percent of OLED panel supplies. Samsung Display retains its leadership It's pertinent to mention here that Samsung's Q1 market share is 6.6 percentage points lower than it was in the same period last year. ARCore apps are now available for the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China

Google's ARCore apps can now run on the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S in China. The apps are available in the Xiaomi App Store through a partnership with Google. A tweet from the Google AR & VR Twitter account announced the news today, although the exact ARCore apps that are now compatible with the Mi Mix 2S were not named. Google did say in the tweet that more partners for ARCore are coming soon. The Mi Mix 2S is the first phone from the manufacturer to support ARCore.
