Themes Thursday: Eight new themes worth checking out

Welcome to a new edition of Themes Thursday! We have eight new themes for you today, and we’ve tried to select something for everyone. The first two themes in our list are from designer Binod Kumar Ray, who has published a lot of impressive icon packs, themes, and wallpapers. The RedTailUI theme has Material UI-inspired design and a darker color scheme, while the TrailsUI theme has wavy wallpapers and a brighter color combination.

This week’s list of best themes also consists of two new themes from MINU – Diamond Pink Purple and Diamond Purple Blue – that have wallpapers and backgrounds inspired by diamond shapes. The [Walk On Mars] Orange Web theme has a 3D-esque wallpaper, an AOD wallpaper, and a themed on-screen keyboard. The Duck (AOD) theme pack looks casual and fun due to its AOD wallpaper and the pastel blue color used in its background. The Egypt _MINDON Design and Santorini _MINDON Design themes are inspired by popular tourist destinations.

DJI showcased its new Mavic Air drone in New York. The third quadcopter in this series is of similar quality to its predecessors and can also fold its arms for better portability. For its size, no competitor offers so much in terms of photo quality. Release date and price The DJI Mavic Air can be ordered through the official DJI website  and is also available from other retailers. The drone is available in three colors: marengo grey, white and red. We can buy the Mavic Air in a basic pack with remote control, protections, charger, cover, propeller replacement and a battery from US$799 (£769 in the UK). Often, one battery is not enough so there is a more complete pack available with three batteries, charger for four batteries and two propeller replacements from $999 (£949 in the UK). Samsung spent a lot of money to tell New York that the Galaxy S8 has arrived

It goes without saying that Samsung is going to spend a lot of money on marketing to get the word out that its new flagship smartphone is the one you should be buying this year. Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ at an event in New York City today. Since it was an invite-only event, although it was streamed live online, Samsung decided to spend a lot of money to tell New Yorkers that the Galaxy S8 has arrived. Samsung illuminated the iconic Times Square in New York City with immersive displays reflective of the visual experience that the Galaxy S8′s Infinity Display promises. It basically bought out almost every available signage to announce the arrival of its newest flagship smartphone. As if that wasn’t enough, it even brought in a troupe of performers who danced “in celebration of the debut of the Galaxy S8.” Good stuff. Foldable tablets are coming: Lenovo to launch one with an LG-made display

You might already be tired of reading rumors about foldable smartphones being imminent - after all, they've been in the news for years without one single such device actually shipping yet (or being announced). Well then, how about foldable tablets? Apparently those are going to exist too, at some point in the future. And the first one might be a Lenovo tablet, with an LG-made foldable screen. That is, if a new report from South Korea is to be believed. The Lenovo foldable tablet will have a 13" display when it's opened, and 8" to 9" when folded. It should be sold in China, at least at first. LG Display sees more opportunities in the foldable tablet market than in foldable smartphones, allegedly. That is because with a phone the screen is hidden when folded. But that downside turns into an advantage with tablets - they would be less bulky and easier to carry when folded.
