Today's forecast for Google weather includes offline servers with a chance of service interruptions

If you're like me, the majority of your interactions with the Google Assistant are questions about the weather. What's it like now? What'll it be like tomorrow? Is it raining in Seattle? Right now, though, such questions are going unanswered, as Google seems to be having trouble delivering weather information for many.

We're getting reports that the Assistant is unable to deliver current weather information or forecasts through most avenues. Asking an Assistant-equipped speaker returns an error message ("Sorry, I don't understand"), while asking on a phone will show a temperature of zero degrees and a suggestion to check weather.com.


I don't believe you, Google.

Pixel devices aren't showing weather on the home screen or lock screen, either. The Google app's weather shortcut shows the familiar little frog fella looking perplexed (as seen above), which is fun, but not very informative.

If you need to know what the weather is like before this gets sorted out, Googling it from a desktop browser still seems to be working (as are the million other sources of weather information online). You could also step outside.

Sony Announces Smaller Digital Paper E-Ink Writing Tablet

Sony has now announced a smaller follow-up to last year's Digital Paper E-ink writing tablet, the DPT-RP1. That's according to a new announcement made today via Sony's official blog. The new tablet – also dubbed with Digital Paper branding but sold under the model number DPT-CP1 – seems to be the same basic design as the previous model. However, while that earlier device was sized as close as possible to A4 paper with a 13.3-inch display, the new model drops to A5 with a 10.3-inch display. That should make its use much easier under a wider number of circumstances since it will arguably be easier to hold in one hand while writing with the other.  However, there will certainly be other benefits as well. Samsung to build a P3 ‘total semiconductor factory’ in Pyeongtaek by 2021

It hasn't been long since Samsung completed the construction of its P2 semiconductor plant in Pyeongtaek, but now, the company is preparing to build its 3rd 'P3' semiconductor factory in the same city in the Gyeonggi Province. According to reports from the local media , Samsung wants to start constructing the P3 plant in September and make it fully operational by the end of 2021. The P3 plant will reportedly be 300 meters longer than the existing P2 plant, topping a total of 700 meters in length. Constructing the building itself should take roughly a year, and a few additional months will be needed to install the necessary equipment and ready it for mass production. The Galaxy M series has proven to be very successful for Samsung. The company launched its Galaxy M handsets last year in a bid to compete more effectively against the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo in India's lucrative mid-range market.
