Xperia XZ4 Case Leaks, Fits The Leaked Renders Perfectly

The Sony Xperia XZ4 renders leaked the other day, and now a couple of Xperia XZ4 case images have appeared as well. If you take a look at the gallery down below, you will see seven images of what seems to be a regular silicone case for the device, and this case actually seems to fit the leaked smartphone perfectly. There is a large, vertical cutout on the back which seems to be just about the right height to accommodate three cameras on the back of the Xperia XZ4, and an LED flash, of course. You will notice that there are three cutouts on the bottom of this case, one is there for the loudspeaker, one for a Type-C USB port, while the third one seems like it's for a 3.5mm headphone jack, but it's not, it's for a microphone, one of them. The Xperia XZ3 did not sport a 3.5mm headphone jack, and it seems like the Xperia XZ4 won't either. A cutout on the top is also reserved for a microphone, while you will notice that there are four spots on the right-hand side of this case reserved for buttons and a fingerprint scanner. From top to bottom, you will find the volume up button, volume down button, fingerprint scanner, power / lock button, and a camera key on this side. That is pretty much all the info that these leaked cases revealed. Background: The Xperia XZ4 CAD-based renders surfaced a couple of days ago in both images and video. Those renders showed off a phone that resembles the Xperia XZ3, but it sports even thinner top and bottom bezels. The phone's display sports rounded corners, and it seems like a fingerprint scanner will be included on the right-hand side of the phone as well. The phone's triple camera setup on the back will protrude a bit, but not much. The phone will once again be made out of metal and glass, just like its predecessor, though it seems like the curved on the back will be much less pronounced this time around. The Xperia logo is imprinted on the back of the device, in the lower portion of its back, while an LED flash sits right above the phone's rear-facing cameras. Now, those CAD-based renders are usually quite accurate, so this may as well be the upcoming Xperia XZ4, even though it's a bit early to tell, as the phone is expected to arrive in February, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, a year after the Xperia XZ2 arrived. The Xperia XZ2 and XZ3 are actually quite similar in many ways, they sport a similar design, and even their specs are quite similar, which is not that surprising considering they have been announced within six months. Both smartphones are fueled by the Snapdragon 845 64-bit octa-core processor, which is still one of the most powerful mobile processors around, while both phones ship in both 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, though their availability is market-dependent. The very same 19-megapixel camera is included on the back of both smartphones, while both devices are IP65/IP68 certified. Now, the one true upgrade that the Xperia XZ3 brings compared to the Xperia XZ2 is the display, as the Xperia XZ3 arrived with a 6-inch P-OLED QHD+ Triluminos display, while the Xperia XZ2 sported a 5.7-inch IPS LCD FullHD+ Triluminos panel. Both panels are really good, but the P-OLED panel on the Xperia XZ3 is noticeably more vibrant, and it offers those deep blacks only OLED units can provide. The Xperia XZ4 will almost certainly be fueled by the yet-unannounced Snapdragon flagship for 2019, the rumored Snapdragon 8150, while rumors are actually saying that the device will include a 6.5-inch QHD+ display. There is a change that may happen, truth be said, as the Xperia XZ4 will sport thinner bezels, and the trend of huge displays is still quite active, and it doesn't seem to be ready to go away. That would be a huge increase over a 6-inch panel on the Xperia XZ3, in terms of the size, but it probably also means that we'll see a different display aspect ratio on the Xperia XZ4. Sony will probably jump from an 18:9 display aspect ratio, to either a 19:9 or a 19.5:9 display aspect ratio on the Xperia XZ4. The phone will ship with Android 9 Pie, while Sony's custom UI will come pre-installed on it. Corning's Gorilla Glass 6 will be implemented on top of the phone's display, and the Xperia XZ4 will almost certainly continue in the Xperia XZ4's footsteps and utilize an OLED panel, a QHD+ OLED panel. The phone will be IP65/IP68 certified for water and dust resistance, while you can also expect to see a set of stereo speakers included in the package. The device will include improved cameras on the back, that's a given, as not only will it sport three sensors instead of one, but the main shooter will probably be improved as well. The phone will arrive in both single SIM and dual SIM variants, as both the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ3 did, while Bluetooth 5.0 will be included in the package. We're expecting to see a battery that is larger than 3,500mAh implemented in the device, and if the rumors are to be believed, the phone will measure 166.9 x 72.4 x 8.2mm, which also suggests that we'll see a much taller display aspect ratio on the device, as it will be quite tall, but also quite narrow at the same time. Impact: The Xperia XZ3 was not a huge upgrade over the Xperia XZ2, as expected, but the Xperia XZ4 is expected to up the ante a bit. That phone will not only bring forth a more appealing design, but it will also intro a new processor that is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 845, as it will be Qualcomm's next-gen flagship chip. The Xperia XZ3 actually has a really capable camera on the back, but the Xperia XZ4 is actually expected to up the performance even more, and close the gap with the leading camera smartphones out there, as the Xperia XZ3 is a really good camera smartphone, but it can't quite compete with the leaders out there, so the Xperia XZ4 is expected to stand side-by-side with some other flagships.
