Budget conscious LG K11 Plus coming to Australia for $360

While there's no sign of the LG V40 handset launching in Australia, LG is seemingly concentrating more on the budget and mid-range market with their K-series handsets. The latest to arrive is the LG K11+, which is about to launch in Australia.

Priced at $360, the phone is available in only a single colour: Aurora Black. The phone features a metal rear back with a fingerprint sensor included and a sleek design which is powered by a Mediatek MT6750 processor, 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB of on-board storage (with microSD card support).

LG has included a 13MP rear camera sensor on the rear which includes PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus) allowing for high-speed Autofocus keeping moving objects in focus and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies with a selfie mode built-in.

For a budget end device, the phone also includes support for DTS: X Surround sound, so when paired with the 5.3″ HD resolution display it should allow for some pretty decent media viewing on the go.

  • 5.3″ HD (1280×720) resolution LCD Display
  • Mediatek MT6750 SoC
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB on-board storage (with microSD card slot
  • 13MP Rear Camera with LED Flash
  • 8MP Front facing camera
  • WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS (A-GPS, Glonass)
  • 4G: B1,B3,B5,B7,B8,B28,B38 (DL only), B40
  • 3,000mAh battery
  • Android 7.1.2
  • 148.7×75.3×8.7 mm @ 163g

There are some red flags we'd like to draw your attention to, the K11+ has no NFC which means no Tap & Pay support and it's launching with Android 7.1.2, which given LG's lack of updates for their low to mid-range phones means you'll likely never see Oreo or any other updates – though we'd love to be proven wrong.

The LG website doesn't yet list which retailers you'll find the K11+ being sold at as yet, but it should show up sooner or later if you want to get one.
