Xiaomi continues to be a force in Asia and drastically increased its presence in Europe, but the U.S. continues to be somewhat of an afterthought for the company. That might change come December 8, when Xiaomi will host an event in New York City.

According to Xiaomi operational project manager Aaron Yang on Reddit, the event will allow people to "experience our latest and greatest Xiaomi products along with meeting our team, special guests, and notable celebrities." Yang did not say whether Xiaomi would launch any products for the U.S. at the event, though it sounds like the company will at least bring some of its latest smartphones and products.

Those products might include the Mi Mix 3, which Xiaomi recently announced and features a slider mechanism that houses the front camera and accompanying sensors. The sliding mechanism also allows the Mi Mix 3 to feature incredibly tiny bezels around the display.

Xiaomi might also show off the Pocophone F1 and Black Shark gaming smartphone, along with accessories like power banks, scooters, and more.

Even though Xiaomi did not say what it will show off at the event, it did say that some lucky people will get invites to the event if they fill out the registration form (attached below). Even though anyone can apply, U.S.-based participants are preferred.

Xiaomi did not say where or at what time the event will start. Either way, we will keep an eye out for additional details as we get closer to December 8.
